9 November Content Ideas

Can you believe we're already in November? Holiday season is officially underway. Here are some ways to celebrate, drive company culture, and increase social engagement this month.

World Vegan Day - November 1

Before you gobble until you wobble this Thanksgiving, kick off November by hosting a healthy vegan potluck. Let your vegan coworkers show off their culinary skills and give the rest of your team an opportunity to try cooking up something new. If your team is virtual you could do a recipe share instead.

Daylight Savings Ends - November 6

Start a warm clothing drive. With the nights drawing in everyone will be starting to dig out their warm clothes from the back of their closets, so now's the perfect time for a clothing drive. Encourage your team (and clients) to bring in any unwanted winter-wear, just make sure it's in good condition before you donate it.

Veterans Day - November 11

Do you have any veterans on your team? If so you could ask how they are spending the day, maybe there's a community event close to their hearts your team can get involved in. It's important to engage your team on occasions such as this and get their input into driving your culture. Another way to show respect to our veterans is of course, to thank them on social media.

World Kindness Day - November 13

Allow your team paid time off to volunteer. You could find a non-profit organization to work with that aligns with your business or operates within your community and arrange set times for your team to help out. Alternatively you could let your team find their own causes to support and then bring everyone together to share pictures and stories of how their time was used.

National Entrepreneurs Day - November 15

Share some throwback pictures of your founding team when they started out - if your company is old enough this is sure to generate a few smiles and laughs around the office and with long-standing clients. You could also share some wisdom from your founding team - building a business comes with lots of learning curves so ask them for their best tips and post them to your social channels.

Thanksgiving - November 24

Invite your team to thank a colleague. This is a great way to boost morale as we get towards the end of a busy year of hard work. At the beginning of the month announce the initiative and create a simple form where your coworkers can write a thank you message to a colleague or colleagues (they can include their name or remain anonymous). Then throughout your last day in the office before Thanksgiving, send out the thank you messages via email to the whole team. Spread them out so the joy continues throughout the day. Another way to celebrate is to host a Thanksgiving potluck or recipe share.

Black Friday - November 25

Black Friday is really aimed at your customers, so think about what they'll find most valuable and what offers will excite them. It's a good opportunity to get creative. If you sell consumer products you could create the ultimate gift list and discount every item. Another fun idea is to go live on social media with a spin-to-win wheel - this will drive up engagement and can also be done on Cyber Monday. Black Friday is a good opportunity to launch a new line or product, build up anticipation in advance with elusive email and social media campaigns.

Small Business Saturday - November 26

If you're a small business then show people you are celebrating the day. If you have a storefront put a poster up, for an online business use trending hashtags on your social accounts such as #SmallBusinessSaturday and #ShopSmall. You could run a contest or promote a discount. Take advantage of the hype by planning ahead and running a cohesive marketing campaign, you may also want to increase your ads budget this month. If you're a bigger business then consider using your platform to shine a light on some of your smaller vendors or clients - they will certainly appreciate the exposure.

Giving Tuesday - November 29

Remember the clothing drive you started on November 6th? Donate it on Giving Tuesday which falls on November 29 this year
