9 October Content Ideas

Holiday season is on the way and with it comes lots of inspiration for social media content! Here are our top ideas for October 2022.

Taco Tuesday - October 4

Who doesn't love tacos? Celebrate by running a webinar and offering anyone who signs up free tacos (you don't have to send them tacos - you can send them a restaurant/food delivery voucher) or offer some free tacos to any potential client who books an intro call with your team by a set date.

World Teacher's Day - October 5

If you're in the education industry there's so much you can do to celebrate this day. You could post pictures of your team with quotes on why the love teaching or decided to teach. You could recognize your team with special gifts/surprises. You could get the kids you teach to draw pictures of their favorite teachers. If you're not in the education industry then think about thanking a teacher, it could be the partner or spouse of one of your team, or it could be someone in your team who leads and champions company training initiatives.

New York Comic Con - October 6-9

Have some fun and host your own Office/Virtual Comic Con. It will make for great social posts! Best dressed or most inventive outfit wins a prize.

World Mental Health Day - October 10

Share mental health numbers and resources with your team, you never know who is struggling. Instead of doing an obvious team activity such as yoga, consider giving your team what is really valuable to their mental health - an extra half or full day off to rest and recharge (if you can afford it of course, it doesn't have to be all at the same time - you can add it to their PTO allowance).

International Day of the Girl - October 11

We're taking advice from the United Nations on this one. The UN encourages us to get involved by sharing human interest stories - blogs and videos of girl changemakers, engaging key female influencers across industries to be the face of change we want girls to see as possible, and amplifying our commitment to raising awareness about and addressing factors that hold girls back.

National Boss's Day - October 16

Here are three ways to celebrate Boss's Day:

  1. Interview your company's leaders and share these interviews on social media - this helps your customers get to know them and makes your company more personable.

  2. Host an executive breakfast or lunch for clients - invite key clients to join your leadership team for breakfast or lunch. Hire professional caterers and consider having a short presentation/speech along with VIP swag bags. This is also a great opportunity to launch a new product or service if you have one in the pipeline - your guest will feel special with a preview and exclusive access.

  3. On the fun side you could have your CEO be an assistant to one of your team for the day. You'll need to decide in advance by running some sort of contest or draw a name from a hat.

Get to Know Your Customers Day - October 20

Shine a light on one of your clients - feature their logo or team in your social posts for the day. If you're a larger company than them they will appreciate the spotlight.

National Checklist Day - October 30

Think about the type of business you have and what type of checklist could be valuable to your clients and then write a blog post around it. For example, as a marketing agency we could write a blog post entitled "The Ultimate Rebrand Checklist" - and we did! (Check back here on October 30th to read it).

Halloween - October 31

Arguably America's most popular holiday. Host a costume party/competition and offer a prize for the best outfit. If you don't feel like dressing up or it's not appropriate for your organization then there's always pumpkin decorating and apple bobbing.
